Despite the extreme hardness of diamond in both cases, the same physical correlations are found when dressing “softer“ abrasive materials such as Al2O3, SiC, SG, TG and cBN. Even when dressing specifically designed diamond grinding wheels with the DDS roller dresser, the result can be influenced by overlap rate and speed ratio.
