GLASS FOR FAÇADE 2018

/ SAINT-GOBAIN BUILDING GLASS – FACADE 8 The European Patent Office (EPO) in The Hague, an impressive tower and a bold example of contemporary architecture, is designed and veiled with a SAINT-GOBAIN glass façade. In line with SAINT-GOBAIN’s pioneering spirit and creative processes to offer performant and beautifully designed materials, the COOL-LITE ST Bright Silver glazing brings a sense of openness and transparency to the building, symbolizing the EPO’s mission to promote innovation in Europe. The elegant and crystalline building with its reflective silver aesthetic is composed of a double-skin façade. The design blends into the natural landscape of Holland, playfully mirroring the sky, land and water, bringing a sense of serenity while it hovers in its context. Designed by architects Jean Nouvel and Diederik Dam, the EPO's New Main is the largest steel building in the Netherlands and the tallest and most slender in Europe. The 85,000 m 2 building is 156 meters long, 107 meters high and 24 meters wide. It hosts over 2, 000 employees on any given day and has been designed to make maximum use of natural light.
