GLASS FOR FAÇADE - EDITION 2022 - 49 48 - GLASS FOR FAÇADE - EDITION 2022 The TANDEM OFFICES complex is located in close proximity to the well- known Palatul Telefoanelor, an Art Deco office tower built in the 1930s. High-end hotels, theatres and other office and commercial buildings are also within walking distance. TANDEM OFFICES, as well as the nearby “MATEI MILLO Offices”, both designed by the ADNBA planning company, are part of an urban regeneration project developed by Forte Partners. The buildings have excellent road and public transport connections. TANDEM OFFICES extends over eight above-ground and three below- ground floors comprising a gross floor area of approximately 34,000 m². Projections and recesses characterise the exterior and each level has one or more spacious roof terraces. The building elevations have curtain wall façades that are designed to be transparent throughout, with deep profiles and narrow profile elevations. The clients prioritised high- quality materials, furnishings and fittings, which is evident in the façade’s use of Saint-Gobain Glass COOL-LITE® XTREME 70/33 (II) solar control coatings. The panes have a triple silver solar control coating on PLANICLEAR® glass with outstanding selectivity. The neutral glass aesthetic provides the best ratio between incoming daylight and protection against overheating from solar radiation. The façade played an important role for achieving “BREEAM Outstanding” - the highest achievable certification within the BREEAM assessment. In addition to the glass products for the façade, 10 other Saint-Gobain products were used on this project, among them: gypsum plasterboards from Rigips®, Isover AKUSTO glasswool and Isover stonewool, and Ecophon Advantage TM demountable ceilings.
