Exploring, collaborating, and daring to fail are the keys to establishing an innovation culture ANNA ALTNER Founder of The Loop Factory, an innovation-driven company specializing in the development of sustainable and circular materials, products and technological solutions. POINT OF VIEW “To instill a culture of innovation, especially if sustainability is the goal, there are several prerequisites. First of all, it’s important to recognize that the world has become extremely complex, and as such, the challenges we face cannot be met alone. Collaboration is thus key. Then, curiosity and agility are crucial. Curiosity stimulates innovation, you have to dare to think outside the box. Agility frees you from rigid plans and lets you create steps as you go, by having a clear vision of the end goal and by making assumptions to guide the process. Lastly, it’s important to understand that innovation is not a linear R&D process, and that failure is an integral part of learning. The key is to fail early in the process, and then learn from the failure to iterate, adapt and, ultimately, improve.” READ the full interview in Constructing a sustainable future 86
