AUSTRIA Co-construction to rehabilitate a historic building WINKLERN TOWER. Previously abandoned, the 13th-century tower has been transformed into a cultural center. In order to restore the building to its central role in village community life, Jana Revedin, the architect in charge of the renovation, involved local residents, schools and cultural and social associations in the design process. This co-conception and the subsequent co-construction resulted in lightweight structures, a vertical wooden staircase that can be easily removed and a bridge linking the two sides of the town. © Jana Revedin INSPIRING PROJECTS 93
