Flap wheels are an ideal choice for a wide variety of blending, deburring,
finishing applications common in the metal fabrication, welding and polishing
industries. Decorative finishing.

These versatile wheels are used on portable machines and are compatible
with the most common used systems in the market. Satinex wheels consist
of a core of radially bonded strips of abrasive flaps. Ideal solution for
decorative and satin finishes, light deburring, blending, polishing, removing
oxide coatings on stainless steel and non-ferrous metals and also for
smoothing wooden surfaces.
Their design makes them ideal for fine gridding work on large areas
and uneven surfaces while delivering a consistent finish with a uniform rate
of cut. The product structure, abrasive flaps anchored by a resin core
at the centre, provides higher flexibility and very smooth surface finish.

Recommendations
for use:
Flange mounted flap wheels achieve their best performance
at a recommended speed of 15-30m/s.
At this speed, abrasive flaps stand up straight due to centrifugal force
and only the edges are in contact with the workpiece, optimizing stock
removal, surface finish, thermal load of the workpiece and toll wear.

To prevent unnecessary tool wear do not increase too much the contact
pressure, the increase of stock removal should be achieved by using
a coarser grit size. To get a slightly finer surface increase the cutting speed.
To get a slightly rougher finishing increase the contact pressure.
Using same grit size, the finishing is rougher on softer materials.
